Kanin Wren is set to release her self-titled album WREN in 2025, promising a rich showcase of her growth as an artist. From her humble origins of performing with patients in hospitals to taking on the world stage, Kanin is ready to positively impact the music industry and the fans she interacts so heavily with.

Early Musical Roots

Kanin’s musical journey started at a young age. She performed for patients in a local hospital at just ten years old. Armed with only a “boom box” and a repertoire of five songs, she would walk from room to room, listening to patients share their stories before serenading them with her warm, soulful voice.

Amid the challenges of being a high school freshman during the tumultuous times of the pandemic, Kanin embarked on a transformative journey by enrolling in songwriting classes.

Beginning to perform in a venue such as a hospital at a young age molded the warm, heartfelt approach that defined Kanin’s connections to music and audience engagement.

Education and Music

As Kanin entered her second year of touring, she received news of her acceptance to the University of Michigan. The university granted her a Gap year to focus on her music before pursuing her studies, further inspiring her musical efforts.

Tribute Band Success

Kanin’s musical career took a surprising turn during her junior year in high school when consultation with Elle Lively sparked a big epiphany. Elle compared Kanin to a young Taylor Swift, igniting the idea of starting a Taylor Swift Tribute band.

Initially hesitant, Kanin, being a fan of Swift, was cautious about meeting the expectations of Swift’s dedicated fanbase. However, given Kanin’s talent, those concerns proved unwarranted.

After Kanin had completed her band, she eagerly reached out to the venues that had been a part of her musical journey since she was twelve, where she played them as a solo artist with only her guitar. Within a month, she booked sold-out shows while juggling the lead role in her high school musical. The success of the tribute band propelled Kanin into a whirlwind of touring, performing in multiple states and captivating audiences.

Her dedication to meeting and greeting her audience after shows, taking photos, and engaging in friendly conversations has endeared her to fans of all ages. Kanin calls her new friends’ WRENEGADES.’ The singer says she aims to “empower little warriors to be fierce and kind.”

With the upcoming release of WREN and a litany of impending sold-out shows, Kanin Wren’s future in music is promising. Her journey in music has left a meaningful and inspiring mark, showcasing her resilience, artistry, and dedication to connecting with audiences.
