The Story of Tag Markets: From a 2023 Launch to a Global Forex Brokerage

Every global company begins with a decision about what it believes the market has accepted for too long. For Tag Markets, that decision came in 2023, when its leadership looked at the forex brokerage industry and saw an established sector that had grown in size without evolving quickly enough in technology, client experience, or partner infrastructure.

The company was formulated in Colombia in August 2023. Its starting point was not the belief that forex itself needed to be reinvented. The opportunity was in the systems surrounding it. Account opening could be slow, copy trading could feel disconnected, and introducing brokers were often expected to manage large client networks through technology that lacked visibility and speed.

That observation became the foundation for Tag Markets. The company entered the market with an intention to build a brokerage that felt more modern from the first interaction. The emphasis was placed on reducing friction, making products easier to access, and developing systems around how clients and partners use a forex platform.

The first major step came in 2024, when the business obtained its Mauritius licence. Regulation provided a structure for international expansion and established an important operating foundation. As the company began reaching more markets, its offices became central to the next phase of growth.

Their office offered more than a location. It placed the brokerage inside a financial centre connected to the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. The city has become home to fintech companies, investors, trading businesses, and international financial services firms. For a company with global ambitions, that environment created access to talent, markets, and partnerships across several regions.

Product development accelerated in 2025. In September, the company launched CopyX, its proprietary copy trading platform. Through CopyX, clients can create an account, deposit funds, review available traders, and connect their account to a strategy they choose to follow. Clients who prefer to manage their own positions can trade independently instead.

The following month, Tag Markets introduced its IB portal. Introducing brokers remain an important part of the global forex industry, yet many still operate through fragmented systems. The portal was built to give partners clearer access to onboarding, reporting, account activity, and client management tools through one environment.

These launches reflected the same idea that shaped the company at the beginning. Technology should make the brokerage experience easier to understand and navigate. Rather than treating product innovation as a single event, the business began building a wider ecosystem around clients, traders, and partners.

The next stage arrived in 2026. The company secured its South African regulated licence, expanding its regulatory presence and strengthening its position in one of Africa’s most active financial markets. In May of the same year, it reached one million clients.

Tag Markets also says it has recorded more than $820 billion in transactional volume. Reaching those figures less than three years after launch shows how quickly the company moved from formation to international scale. The growth was supported by regulation, partner distribution, product development, and demand for a more accessible trading experience.

The company has continued developing account structures intended to give traders greater flexibility. Its 12X and 24X accounts provide access to larger account sizes within defined drawdown conditions. These products have created momentum by addressing demand from traders seeking greater capital efficiency and more choice in how they enter the market.

Education has also become part of the wider platform. Through free trading education, clients can access video courses, practical articles, and live trading sessions designed to improve their understanding of markets and platform functionality. The inclusion of education reflects the view that access should be supported by information.

From Colombia, the story has developed through connected decisions. A licence created the foundation.. CopyX expanded the product offering. The IB portal strengthened partner infrastructure. New account structures responded to trader demand. One million clients demonstrated the scale of the audience reached.

The long term objective is to build Tag Markets into the largest forex brokerage in the world. The significance of that goal lies in what the company has already assembled around it. In less than three years, it has moved from an idea about an outdated industry to a global brokerage with proprietary technology, multiple regulatory milestones, international offices, and a client base measured in the millions.

The next chapter will not begin with another introduction. Tag Markets has already established who it is, what it has built, and where it intends to go. The story now turns to how far a brokerage founded on accessibility, technology, and continuous development can extend its place across global forex.
