Long-time filmmakers and content creator duo Charles Canning Burt, producer, and Omar Parker, director, are at it again with an all-new film on the horizon. Their new movie, The Prince, The Sister, & The Serpent, is set to film in the Mediterranean next summer. Burt is in the production driver’s seat with this marking his 20th feature film. Amy Hull Burt will be penning the script with Parker who will lend his directing talents to the film. The film follows the myth of Cadmus, the Phoenician founder of Thebes.

Ying and Yang

People you meet in college will often be in your lives forever, and that’s certainly been the case for Burt and Parker. They were an unlikely duo. Burt was a photography student with a keen eye. Parker, his Lebanese business partner, was a story focused filmmaker who hated analog photography. They met at Montana State University in 2015 in a film lab and bonded over a shared love of film. That same year, they formed Egerton Crescent Productions, launching their working partnership and introducing them to the industry.

The duo have many differences. Charles prefers traditional filmmaking but has an appreciation for digital trends and embracing new ideas. Omar prefers digital filmmaking and new content creation, but his love of storytelling gives him appreciation for the classics. It can put them at odds, but it has worked. The duo believe they balance each other out. Ten years later, they have a slew of accolades under their belts most filmmakers their age envy.

Making a Mark on the Entertainment Industry

They’ve scored major slots at prestigious film festivals like Sundance, Cannes, Berlin, Tribeca, and TIFF. To boot, their work has even found success on popular streaming platforms. Luz premiered at Sitges and is now streaming on Peacock, while Camp Pleasant Lake hit #1 on the Starz platform. In addition Burt was previously part of Sundance’s feature film programming division.

With digital content they have worked with high profile YouTubers, reached hundreds of millions of viewers on social media, earned multiple Silver Play Buttons, and partnered with many prestigious brands.

Given the significant impact of social media on most industries and Hollywood’s reluctance to embrace new ideas, the duo’s digital-first approach truly sets them apart. Burt and Parker’s nimble, tech-forward production company allows them to stay ahead of the curve by utilizing the best digital technologies on the market, making sure their teams remain lean and efficient.

Global Traveler and Adventurer

On top of their work in film and YouTube, Burt and Parker have had significant digital content influence over the years. Their travel show Side Quest is loved by over a million Instagram followers, allowing the old friends to travel around the world to destinations like Tokyo, New York City, Kyoto, Dubai, and Osaka.

Burt is a bonafide adventurer and global citizen. On top of spending frequent time in the UK where he is also a citizen, he regularly motorcycles across the states, and has plans to scout many locations this summer for possible filming opportunities including Malta, Naples, Athens, Rome, and more.

What’s Next for Burt and Parker?

The pair is entering a new chapter of their career with The Prince, The Sister, & The Serpent. With a Mediterranean backdrop, the movie breathes life into a Greek myth about a Phoenician prince. Burt’s Lebanese business partner has proven particularly helpful for this endeavor, adding an authentic touch of culture to the story and allowing Parker to explore his own heritage’s icons.

So, what’s next for Burt and Parker? The filmmakers are committed to producing and filming content that resonates with audiences. Burt loved his visit to Dubai and would love to return with a project someday after this exploration of Lebanese myth. Parker hopes to keep entertaining and making new, fun, engaging content. They’re doing just that with The Prince, The Sister, & The Serpent, and they have no plans to stop.
